Kristine Theurer & Myles Murchison

Monday evening, June 7  7:30pm
 
Kristine Theurer is a Bachelor of Music, songwriter, performing artist, and an Accredited Music Therapist. She has written and released four CDs as a solo artist. As a music therapist, she helps people living with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Her work with hand chimes and her acclaimed book, The Bells Are Ringing, introduced a unique approach to music-making for people with dementia.

Myles Murchison is a writer and producer. His novel, The Deathless, was published by Random House. His theatre plays have been performed across Canada and on London's West End. As a reporter, he received the Edward R. Murrow for broadcast journalism and a number of Canadian magazine awards. He has also been active in marketing, advertising, and broadcasting.
Kristine & Myles, along with musicians from the local San Diego ministries will weave original music throughout the opening ceremonies along with drama and multimedia.

 

Emilio Zarris

Tuesday morning, June 8 9:00am

 
The music of Emilio Zarris touches the listener at a soul level. His gift of voice has taken him from the Toronto Production of 'Miss Saigon' (for the full 2&1/2-year run) and a 5-year stint as the lead performer in the multimillion dollar productions onboard the ships of major cruise lines to the Toronto hit shows 'I Decide' and 'Shift'. He has had the privilege of opening for international bestselling author Marianne Williamson, renowned personality Arun Ghandi (the grandson of Mahatma Ghandi) and Stephen Lewis, the former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa.



Currently, Emilio sings for various communities and special events throughout Ontario, and is working on producing his first CD. Emilio's intention is to impact the world.

 

Karen Taylor Good

Grammy nominated, Karen Taylor Good has had numerous international radio hits with songs recorded by such artists as Laura Branigan, Melissa Manchester, Al Jarreau & Patty Loveless. She's garnered several Songwriter of the Year awards, has her own music publishing and merchandising companies, is author of “On Angel's Wings” and has published many cd's.  

As a keynote speaker Karen has inspired, motivated, encouraged and entertained thousands. Her objective is clear:  To make a difference in the world as the “Song Guru” a woman of wisdom and compassion who uses the power of music to open hearts and minds.
 

Charles Holt

Thursday morning, June 10  9:00am

 
Charles is a recording artist, signed with (AMI) Agape Media International. His debut album, "I Am" is an eclectic crafting of songs anchored in love, healing and freedom. His gift of song continues to be embraced by listeners around the world. 


Charles hosts seminars and workshops on campuses around the country. He has starred in some of the most celebrated and spectacular productions in American theatre history including Jesus Christ Superstar, Smokey Joe's Café, and the Lion King. He is co-creating, with Dr. Michael Beckwith, a one-man stage presentation based on the life of George Washington Carver. He will soon begin touring regional theatres with his most recent work, America, The Black, The Beautiful, a one-man play with original music and multimedia.
 

Rickie Byars Beckwith

Dr. Rickie Byars‑Beckwith, a prolific composer, singer, performer and music director is an intuitive channel of healing music whose compositions give rise to a profound experience that opens the heart, touches the soul and lifts the spirit.
Dr. Byars-Beckwith's unique talents have brought her acclaim as a pioneer in alternative spiritual music, and in 2001, an honorary Doctorate Degree in Music from the United Church of Religious Science.

Rickie's sound crosses all musical boundaries, an evolution of her rich beginnings in gospel, rhythm and blues, and later influenced by jazz and world beat. Raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was early on identified as a unique, multi‑faceted musical talent. She received schooling from choir directors in the segregated school systems of the South, which became the foundation of her own universal kaleidoscope of music. musical style.

Together, Dr. Michael Beckwith and Dr. Rickie Byars‑Beckwith have written lyrics and music performed by the Agape International Choir in concert venues worldwide. Wherever they appear, their performances richly contribute peace and goodwill to the global community in the universal language of music. Their collaboration has become identifiable the world over as "The Sound of Agape," to which healings of body, mind and heart have been attributed.
