What is YOU?
The Youth of Unity (YOU) is an international youth group for teens ages 14-18 (grades 9-12). The purpose of YOU is to encourage and assist in the spiritual growth of all young people who are seeking to express the indwelling Christ in accordance with the principles of practical Christianity as taught and interpreted by Unity Institute and the Association of Unity Churches International. YOU provides youth the opportunity to explore Unity's principles and other truth teachings and to demonstrate these in their daily lives.
How do I get involved?
Any Unity church or study group affiliated with the Association of Unity Churches International may facilitate an active YOU group.
Find an active YOU group in your area.
What is an active YOU group?
A YOU group typically meets on a weekly basis, usually Sunday morning.
Youth discuss and learn a variety of spiritual teachings, attend social gatherings, and become involved in their church and community.
Officers, or a leadership team, are often elected to help plan for the local group.
What is a region?
Each state belongs to one of the seven ministerial regions as defined by the Association of Unity Churches International.
Each region hosts many events, or rallies, for its YOU groups.
Rallies encourage fellowship as well as the sharing of ideas and experiences in the framework of Unity principles.
Regional representatives are elected yearly in each region to plan the YOU experiences on a regional level. These events include rallies, leadership events, lock-ins, subregional activities, fundraisers and service projects.
What is a regional representative?
Regional representatives, "regis," are teens elected each year at their official rally to plan and lead at least two rallies a year as well as attend and offer their support to other events held during the year.
Regis work closely with their regional consultants.
What is a regional consultant?
In each region, there is a team of youth ministry consultants. (To find your regional consultant, click here.) These people are employed by the region to be of assistance to the churches and their youth programs in the areas of children's ministry, Uniteens, YOU and young adults.
Throughout the year, these consultants offer training, retreats, consultations (phone and personal visits) and support. Regional consultants are present at YOU rallies to ensure strong youth programs.
YOU has eight regions, one for each ministerial region, with the exception of South Central Unity Churches Association, which is subdivided into Central and South YOU. (Click here for map of regions.)
Who is the International Youth of Unity coordinator?
Currently, Reverend Jane Simmons is our interim YOU coordinator. The coordinator is employed by the Association of Unity Churches International in Lee's Summit, Mo.
The coordinator, in collaboration with the regional consultants, co-creates the International Youth of Unity program and is a resource to field ministries.
What is the Peace by Piece Program (PPP)?
Each year, delegates from countries outside the U.S. are invited to attend the international event to experience and learn about the peace, joy and love that YOU offers.
PPP delegates must be supported by a Unity church, study group or school or other spiritually like-minded organization. The delegates help create YOU groups when they return to their home countries.
The participation of Peace by Piece delegates adds an international awareness to the YOU conference body, spreads Unity teachings throughout the world, and makes international conference more truly international.

Who is the international liaison?
The attending PPP delegates elect an international liaison each year. The international liaison is a part of the Event Planning Team (EPT) and works with them to create the annual International Youth of Unity event.
What is the Association of Unity Churches International?
The Association of Unity Churches International is comprised of approximately 1,000 member ministries and satellite ministries throughout the world.
Our Association of Unity Churches International is dedicated to supporting and strengthening its member ministries by providing human resources, administrative and educational programs.
