jackie - you are whole and loved!
My heart reaches out to "jackie" in her post on "reconciliation/healing." It doesn't matter how long you have been "away from the church." You can never be away from Spirit - God loves you no matter what - no matter what mistakes you have made (we ALL make mistakes!). In place of your anxiety, anger, remorse, guilt, and obvious fear, please take a deep breath and allow yourself to KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT that God loves you just as you are, mistakes and all! You have never been without God's grace and forgiveness! You have merely kept it from yourself! Let God's love flow through you! I know it seems hard - impossible sometimes - when we are down on ourselves because we think we are not good enough, but the TRUTH is you are always good enough, just as you are! You are good enough because God already knows your heart! I encourage you to browse the Unity website and read the prayers, meditations, and other wonderful writings that will encourage you and inspire you! Give YOURSELF the gift of Grace and Forgiveness! At any time, you have been doing the best you could do, so stop beating up on yourself! Make the decision today to begin living a new life! There is so much more out there for you if you will start walking toward it, start moving toward it in your heart and mind first and let go of the past mistakes - that's what makes us "sinners" - refusing to learn lessons from the mistakes we've made and repeating them over and over. Forgive those whom you believe have wronged you - you don't have to accept treatment that is harmful or inconsiderate to you in order to forgive others - most likely they are doing their very best at the time too - we are ALL on the journey! Start going to your local Unity church if you can - and give yourself a break - KNOW IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD ALREADY LOVES YOU HERE AND NOW - the past is gone and the future is not here yet - all our true power is in the here and now where we can begin making better choices and decisions about what direction we are taking our lives. Jackie - know that you are loved. Grace and Blesings...

One Song - Many Voices
"imachildofgod" is exactly right! I agree completely! I could not have written it better! The only separation is that created by people who think theirs is the only right way. Even when I see programs or hear people talking in a way contrary to the way Unity and other New Thought groups teach, I remind myself they are on their path - they will get where they are going if they stay true to their path. It's not my place to tell them they are wrong, even though that feels wrong for me to think or believe like that anymore. A person sent me a note about an article I wrote for Helium about Devotionals for Helium, stating she had recently become a Christian. Part of me wants to assure her that whatever she believed before was okay, but the fact that she's trying to learn and grow and develop her relationship with Spirit - in any way - is good for her and not for me to judge. The Presence of Spirit is in and runs through ALL of us, shining like a brilliant prism reflecting the individual particles of Spirit. It take so much stress and fear away when we realize this. Thank you, imachildofgod! Grace and Blessings to you!

request for paryer
my husband and I have been experiencing some difficult financial times as have many others in our world. i had an extremely difficult several days recently, just couldn't get my mind GOD CENTERED. while i was at work, he called silent unity which i have found out he does frequently. something changed in me gradually that day to the point where, my heart stopped pounding, my mind became calm and my perspective took a turn toward GOD within me. when we talked that evening, i discovered he had prayed that day. i knew it was the spiritual strength from him to GOD that moved me toward the calmness and knowing that we will be OK. our spiritual connection has never been so profound as it has been since he joined the unity circle. i am so grateful for our blessings, nan

all paths lead to god
I must say I was a bit shocked to see Emerald Eyes' comment. All people in ALL the world are on a path to god. Where they live, Where they were born, How they were raised, what their religion is, is void. We are all equals in the eyes of God, and are supposed to look at each other with those same eyes. The christ in me, sees the christ in you. As Bishop Spong says "Love wastefully". The bible, in my honest opinion and I truly BELIEVE, is not to be taken litteraly. Our intellegence points that out on many stories from the bible. And let us not forget our dear constantine that destroyed hundreds of books from that era he deemed heretic beliefs. Our current bible is only a fraction of what was really available at that time. I believe in the metaphysical interpretations because they speak to my intellect. And they feel right in my heart. Unity is about loving anyone. Gay or Straight. Fat or skinny. Black or white. Rich or poor. We all take off our superficial masks as we walk into the sanctuary and greet each other as equals. There are no men, no women, no gays, no straights, no blacks, no whites, no rich, no poor, no muslims, no christians, no buddhists, no ahteists, ONLY the christ that indwells each and every one of us is present and we simply glow with that unconditional love for everyone. If you have EVER researched the similarities between Buddahs teachings and that of Jesus you would see how incredibly SIMILAR they are. The teaching of LOVE is what stood out most for these two men. Their teaching of love should and does live on in the present with unity teachings and its followers. Not the bigotry, hate, and conditional love put upon some followers of other paths. HOWEVER, simply because someone is choosing another path, does not mean they are on the wrong one. every religion in this entire world are like the spokes of a wheel. With god being at the very center, omnipresent holding the entire wheel together. I have found nothing but smiling faces and loving embraces from everyone I have ever met at unity. And there is something about being in the Unity gardens in MO that has a spiritual significance for me. When you are surrounded by people that love and respect you for the TRUE you. The CHRIST you, well ma'am, that is following Jesus' word to the letter. Namaste to all of you my brothers and sisters.

today 1/18/10
I appreciate The Daily Word message today about affirming divine guidance for all leaders. There is so much distrust and so many conspiracy theories out there. I pray every day for all of the leaders who strive for peace and harmony. I pray for their safety most of all. Thank you for Unity's consistent affirmation of love for all people and harmony in the world. This is my first blog. Ellen

Curious and Response
If you have never been to a Unity church, TRY IT! It doesn't hurt, really! It is one of the most non-judgemental and open-minded churches out there and that is what was attractive to me. I came from a Catholic background but have been to many other types of churches. I find that many other Christian religions can be very close-minded and judgemental. I haven't found that to be the case with Unity. People are friendly and I feel a loving-spirit that welcomes everyone, regardless of your past or present religious views. Jesus is our way-shower and Jesus LOVED everyone, no matter who they were or where they were from. So, give Unity a chance. I had stopped going to church for a long time before I chose to attend a Unity church...I was curious because a client of mine had told me a little bit about Unity. I have been attending ever since. It is my Spiritual Home that feeds my Soul every day.

Curious and reponse
Dee, I imagine Emerald Eyes is trying to be helpful, but it doesn't appear to me she has read what you said. I've always thought of Unity as a cross between mystical Christianity and the meditative traditions in the east. Since it sounds like this is what you have going on in your household you may be quite comfortable at Unity. Emerald Eyes84, speaking for myself as a member of a Unity Church and not in any official capacity for the Unity movement, I think it is rude to go to another denomination's website and try to put off people who are seeking answers to questions from members of that denomination. This seems to me more about control than God.

I don't think your answer is becoming a member of this church. I have a husband who isn't exactly an atheist, but he isn't a christian either, so I can relate. You need to be a witness to your husband. You need to set an example for your daughters in letting them know that your husband beliefs are not the same. If you are truly a christian you know that Jesus is the only way, it says so in the Bible. If I were you, I wouldn't make it easier for your husband to believe in Buddha by going to a church that believes no what matter what religion a person has they are going to heaven, I would go to a Bible believing christian church. Hope this helps. I will be praying for you and your family. God bless.
