Silent Unity Prayer for Haiti

Every day at 11 a.m. (CST) during the month of March, Silent Unity and the Association of Unity Churches International are united in prayer for the people of Haiti and Chile and for those involved in the relief efforts. We invite you to join us in this sacred pause.

Use this Meditation to Support the People of Haiti
This video meditation was created to help you prepare in mind and heart, seeing these dear ones surrounded in the light of God's love. Thank you for the difference you make with every prayerful thought. Although the meditation was produced before the recent earthquake in Chile, we ask that you include the people of that country during your prayerful reflection.

Friends, with situations like the one in Haiti, we may ask ourselves, what can we do? While we'll soon learn of the many ways we can be of assistance, one thing we can do is pray. As a world family we speak in many different tongues to create one voice. We invite you to join us in prayer for all those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.

As you pray, know that God is present in the midst. Envision each and every person in Haiti surrounded in this divine presence of love, comforted, strengthened and guided in next steps. Hold an image of divine love in action as individuals assist in recovery and relief by providing food, water, shelter, clothing and medical aid.

There is energy in prayer that touches the minds and hearts of all involved. United we make a difference.

The beautiful and moving song below was created by Enrique Feliz. He performs it along with Alicia Baroni. Both musical artists are from the Dominican Republic and members of our congregation in Unity en Dominicana. Enrique created the song for a telethon to raise funds to help Haiti.  Click here to download the song.

Haitian Fundraising
Haitian Relief Efforts Fundraiser Greetings Friends, As you, I am looking for ways to support our brothers and sisters in Haiti. In conjunction with The Association of Unity Churches International Haitian Relief Efforts, and as a Consultant for Tomboy Tools, I invite you to consider participating in this current fund raising effort. While the normal Tomboy Tool fundraiser for non-profits offers 20% of proceeds from sales, I have added an additional 10% to this gift for a total of 30% of proceeds from sales going directly to the Haitian Relief Efforts via The Association of Unity Churches International. Please have a look at the Tomboy Tools line of Gardening, Household & Auto Tools which are not only "Perfect in Pink" but are ergonomically designed & correctly fitted for women. These items make great gifts for "ourselves" in addition to your wife, gal-pals, girlfriends, college kids and friends with their own homes looking to save costs on simple household projects & repairs. To apply your purchase to the Haitian Relief Efforts, please copy this link into your browser and it will take you to the fundraiser. Please make sure to select the shipping option where items ship to you, not to the hostess. http://www.tomboytools.com/attendees/icannotattend.asp?pid=4703 As your Tomboy Tool Consultant, I am delighted to be a partner in supporting our brothers and sisters in Haiti. While the 2 Unity Churches in Haiti were destroyed, these funds will go towards supporting more than just the rebuilding of the churches, these funds will go towards rebuilding the lives of many families, many men, women & children devastated by this natural disaster. Thank you so much for having a peek at the Tomboy Tool line and for supporting our Brothers & Sisters in Haiti through your purchase. I hope you enjoy the pleasure of giving as much as I do. Feel free to contact me through my personal webpage at www.tomboytools.info/sandraacevedo or email me at easa0699@comcast.net or by telephone at 916-548-8714. Wishing you peace of mind, peace in your heart and prosperity in all that you do!

Haiti Aid
I am the minister at Atlanta Unity and Dr. Allan Gathercoal, founder of Flying Doctors of America, is part of our ministry. He led our church in developing a mission to Peru to an orphanage of the poorest of the poor. Right now, Flying Doctors are on the ground in Haiti. They need support. I am totally for them and the work that they do. These doctors and support team are there from their own money. Supporting them would be a great blessing from the Unity movement to them and to Haiti. Please consider supporting them. Go to www.fdoamerica.org/mission_haiti. You can know your gifts are well spent and are saving lives. God bless you.

Haiti in Our Hearts
At Unity Church of the Hills in Austin, TX, we responded to the Earthquake in Haiti with an immediate donation to Save the Children. We established a prayer for our Prayer Team to focus on and then broadcast emailed that prayer to our email list sharing in that message that we would be receiving a special offering after each service on Sunday, January 17. The response was amazing with over $8,600.00 being given. Those funds were divided between Mercy Corps and Partners in Health. Our International Outreach Team Leader was instrumental in researching organizations with an excellent BBB rating and accreditation from Charity Navigator. So we know 93% or more of the funds given are going to the field. We collectively ministered as a congregation with our Word and with our Hearts and we will continue in that focus. We are ever grateful for the great uprising of generosity of hands, minds and hearts here and and with all of you! Rev. Steve Bolen

Prayer in Action
Dear Unity friends, as a 52 year old African American, I was raised to think in terms of community and believed we should always give back ... that our prayers need to be backed with action. This was a philosophy that permeated Black American culture especially before integration when, as a people in American racial apartheid we needed to rely on one another from everything from the goods we bought to the services we sought. When one of my White Unity brothers asked me how I was last Sunday I replied that I'm okay except for the suffering of my brothers and sisters in Haiti. When he asked if I had family there I replied, the world is my family, so yes, I have family in Haiti. So when I pray for Haitian recovery and when I visualize the recovery and help moving into the interior Port-au-Prince areas where the greatest suffering prevails, I couple this with speaking out to let people know that I am not okay as long as suffering persists there. And I couple my prayers with actual donations in any way I can and am able to afford.

Haiti is Unity
My heart, thoughts and prayers for continuing support of the victims are plentiful. I too am available for physical work if directed to do so. Please keep me in mind as a volunteer. I am able to assist with child care, nursing, grief/critical/trauma counselling. Rosa Rubay, I am a Unity student in Fresno, California. Please let me know if I can help further. Thank you for your ongoing prayer support. I call upon all of the Christ faculties within each of us to do that which we are called upon to do. Again, my endless gratitude to all.

Support Unity in Haiti!
Thank you so much Lois and God bless you in your work. I proposed to Assoc/Unity Churches in email this morning(info@unity.org):"establish fund to be used to aid Unity Churches of Haiti in THEIR work now. I call on every Unity Church in the world to send aid through that fund. Our Unity movement needs to send material and personnel support now to Our Unity Churches in Haiti. With aadministrative support from "Unity Central" we can help our sister Unity Churches in Haiti to best provide on-the-ground aid to the people of Haiti. Administrative personnel and volunteers should be sent now: disaster relief, health care, construction volunteers etc. I'll begin with a $100 pledge now. Stephen Smith LIFECOACHA@AOL.COM, member of Unity of Livonia MI Thank You God" I'm eager to hear from them.

Unity presence in Haiti
Thank you for your inquiry, Stephen. In answer to your question, our Haitian family is served through Unite Silencieuse, which is Silent Unity in French, and La Parole Quotidienne, the French version of Daily Word. These affiliate ministries are located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Their Web site is www.laparolequotidienne.org. Serving in the International Services department, I've heard from those with family in Haiti. While there are few words that fully express our feelings at a time like this, they are comforted in knowing others are holding the high watch with them. Thank you for being one of the many who are supporting our world family during this time of need. Some are asking how they can combine action with their prayer support. In response, Unity will soon post a link to the American Red Cross. As we learn of other ways to be of support, we'll also post that information on our website. Stephen, your compassion has touched me. We are truly one world, and as the prayer above states, united we make a difference. Many blessings to you.

Do we have any Unity presence in Haiti? What can we do as Unity to help? Appreciate comments. Stephen
