January 2009 Guided Meditation

Silent Unity Prayer Service

“Do you need Me? I am there.” We let these words of James Dillet Freeman resonate in our minds as we pause from our daily routines for a peaceful time of prayer. In this new year—a time of new beginnings—we know God is with us and those we hold in our hearts day and night.

United in this awareness now, let us join in sacred prayer.

One with the all-encompassing
presence of God, we are at peace.

Peace fills our hearts as we relax, breathe deeply, and rest in an awareness of the presence of God within. God is our strength, our assurance of unlimited good.

“Do you need Me? I am there.” We gently release any concern and open ourselves to peace … wisdom … and joy. With hearts attuned to God, we are serene. Now, in this moment, there is only God … and the blessing of divine love. We feel this love envelop and fill us—mind, body and soul—with infinite peace and joy.

Resting in this peaceful moment, we now relax and pray …

We enter this new year with confidence,
knowing that God lights our way.

God is our strength, our true source of direction in all situations. We pause and rest in the awareness that God truly is within us as a loving presence and guiding light.

With hearts attuned to God, we are filled with gratitude, knowing that we are being guided to our good. We gently release any doubt or concern and allow confidence and peace to fill our minds and hearts.

God lights our way and illumines the path before us. We know what is ours to do. With faith in God and in anticipation of answered prayer, let us return to the stillness of prayer …

Divine energy enlivens our minds and bodies.
We are refreshed and renewed.

God is our strength and our source of healing energy and vitality. We give thanks for this truth as we turn within.

We breathe deeply now, filling our lungs with divine life. As we breathe in, we feel this powerful energy moving in and through us, restoring wholeness and vitality. As we exhale, we let go of any thoughts of imperfection and relax in the loving presence of God.

We hear the whispered promise, “Do you need Me? I am there.” God is with us as a mighty healing current of renewing strength. With God, we are whole in mind, body and spirit.

With gratitude, we now breathe deeply and affirm health and wholeness as we pray …

God created us to experience a life of abundance.
We claim our good.

God is our source of unlimited abundance. This is the thought we hold now as we affirm prosperity. Our lives are filled with abundance—our relationships, our creative expressions, our thoughts and ideas, our life's work. With these and more, we live prosperous, fulfilling lives.

“Do you need Me? I am there.” In these prayerful moments, we feel the presence of God with us, gently guiding us to abundant living. Everything we desire is already ours through the all-knowing provision of God.

We relax in an awareness of our abundant universe and give thanks for the good that flows to us now and always.

Affirming and claiming the good that is ours, we pray …

One with God, we are contributing to a new world
of peace and security.

We now envision all people as one in spirit, living in peace and harmony. We affirm that each person is being divinely guided and filled with an understanding mind and heart.

We recognize the harmonizing presence of God within every citizen, leader, country and situation, establishing peace in the world.

Affirming harmony, cooperation and understanding for all, we now pray …

As we close our prayer time together, we give thanks for our spirit of oneness and for the many blessings that will be revealed to us in the weeks and months ahead. We give thanks for the loving presence of God that is always with us, providing for us in every way. Let us keep this truth in our hearts as we join in praying the “Prayer for Protection”:

The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches
       over us.
Wherever we are, God is!
