The World Around You

Have you ever had a “mountaintop experience”—a time when you felt as close to God as you could possibly be? The key to such an experience is being aware of your surroundings, taking the time to pause and watch the world around you.

At the top of a mountain, time seems to stand still. If you listen carefully, you'll hear the rustle of feathers as eagles' wings capture the wind. And as that same wind brushes softly against your face, it's like the breath of God whispering in a voice only your soul can hear.

These things—all things—are God's creation. And you share oneness of being with that life.

Become Aware

How do you become more aware of divine life around and within you? Rather than dwell upon the “self” you think you are, look beyond seeming appearances and embrace your divine heritage. Your “true” identity is as a child of God.

Your relationships are also opportunities to discover the underlying bond of love that Spirit has established within you and within others. You are the love of God expressed as a living being. You are one with love and one with life. In your relationships, love first makes itself known through acceptance.

Diversity Equals Love

Our unity is spiritual in origin and transcends any earthly problems. Even though we differ in many ways, discovering the universal truth of our oneness comes through diversity.

Because we are so diverse, we learn to love others regardless of differences. And the Truth still remains—on the surface we are unique individuals, yet at the cores of our beings, we are all one with God.

Are you ready to embrace your unity with all creation?

  • Become still. Turn away from the busyness of the day through prayer and meditation. In the silence of your soul, God waits for you.
  • Take that feeling of peace with you as you observe everything around you. Give your surroundings the gift of your attention. Soon you'll see the oneness and diversity of life that completely surround you.
  • Make it a point to be respectful of any differences you may have with others, such as language, religion, lifestyles, etc. If you seek commonality with another and can't seem to find it, turn to God in faith-filled prayer and listen to the guidance you receive. With eyes of love, you'll soon see the twinkle of God-life that shines brilliantly from every living thing.

Now that you've experienced a sense of awakening by realizing your oneness with creation, you'll want to carry that feeling with you forevermore. When you practice these helpful tips on a regular basis, soon you'll move from the occasional sense of unity to a continual sense of well-being—as you lead a love-centered life.

Affirmation:
I give thanks for diversity among all people, knowing that each person is an expression of divine love, created in the image and likeness of God. One in this love, we each express understanding and acceptance.
