Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Comment:

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul shares a powerful vision of what the spiritual community, the “church,” can become and accomplish through the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. It is a vision of unity—Jew and Gentile alike finding fellowship in a spiritual understanding that transcends laws and rituals that once separated them. In this passage he emphasizes that this will not happen to those who believe and follow those beliefs. It will happen through them. Through us. Christ Jesus showed the way, demonstrated the possibility, and taught the essential principles. Now it’s up to us. The Christ will bring the kingdom of heaven into expression insofar as it can “work within us” to accomplish more than we could ever manage on our own.

That vision of love and unity is still waiting to fully express. We must surrender our resistance, turn our focus from mortal concerns to eternal Truth, and allow the Christ to do the work of creating the kingdom—through us.

Blessings!
