Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court with him, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny. (Matthew 5:25-26)

Comment:

In this passage from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is explaining the process of cause and effect that can keep us locked in limited, judgmental thinking. The accuser, judge and guard represent aspects of mortal mind—fear-based human beliefs that lock us in fear. Einstein said that we can’t solve a problem at the level of consciousness that creates the problem. Jesus is saying the same thing here. If we try to engage mortal mind on its own terms, we will lose. By choosing instead to see from the spiritual perspective that is always available, we can easily dissolve the appearances of duality and conflict, and experience instead the underlying wholeness.

Blessings!
